It is surprising how well this chandelier mixes into all type of interiors from traditional to modern. People who have purchased it are using it in a dining room (which was recently scouted and filmed for a commercial because the production designer loved the chandelier), a living room, an entry hall, and a couple of bedrooms.

It's the first day of Fall and our thoughts turn to velvet and cashmere and other luxe cool weather fabrics.
A customer named Brandi from Houston had perch. custom make this perfect blue velvet chair and she sent us a picture of it in her home. Doesn't it look perfect?
Here's a little velvet round up for you, just to get you thinking about doing some things around the house for Fall.
Reprinted from Thibaut:
This Fall velvet is big. We’re seeing it on the runways and in our design studios. Its soft, plush comforting texture is fresh and vibrant this season. More and more, interior designers are choosing velvets for curtains, furnishings and accessories. Why? Because the new velvets aren’t the formal fabrics they used to be. Innovative cutting methods and fresh colors make velvets perfect for every room in the house. Designers are using velvet in family rooms, bedrooms – even kitchens. It’s not just for your grandma’s dusty drapes.
Example A: the settee (above) is covered in a yummy Wild Flora velvet by Anna French ($178 yd full retail). Love it! Here are more velvets that look so yummy you’ll wish they were cupcakes (but then they’d be gone!)….
I know the wallpaper is really great, but isn’t the sofa awesome as well? The white velvet trim gives the sofa a lot of pizzazz. The indigo velvet is from Thibaut’s Tidewater Collection (59 yd full retail). It comes in zillions of colors.
This style is a little frou-frou for me. But I love the velvet stripe (I could lose the trim). Cut velvets are so fashion forward.
Here are a few Robert Allen selections I found at OnlineFabricStore.net. A cut velvet is terrific on upholstered pieces, pillows, and (depending on the weight) curtains. But truly, the sky is the limit. Be creative and think outside the interior design box. How about covering storage boxes with a patterned velvet? Super!
Just as in fashion, accessories are a great way to follow a trend. Pillows are just the thing. Of course, velvet will be around a lot longer than the thigh high boots I bought last week. So why are these pillows from Etsy so less expensive? Sigh. Starting from the top left, Homemaker Movement offers tons of pillows. These chrysanthemum velvet pillow covers are $59.00. The damask velvet burnout style is from The HomeCentric ($17.75). They also have lots of styles to choose from. Finally, this lovely striped pillow from NenaVon ($25.00).
More! Yes. One of my favorites fabric houses is Designer’s Guild. Check out their site. It’s inspiring. They have an online shop that often runs sales (and I do mean often) on bedding, pillows and other decorative things that are super lovely.
Here’s a sampling of Designer’s Guild fabrics. Velvet that is! Cut velvets rule. Their fabrics are sold through the trade. (call perch. 504 899 2122)
I could go on and on with velvets. Love them. I used a cut velvet for lumbar cushions in a kitchen I recently finished. Where would you use a velvet?

We know you watch as much Bravo as we do. Therefore you do watch The Rachel Zoe show.
Her apartment is often shown on the show, and you can't miss the two fabulous large yellow lamps behind her couch. Well, perch. has them!
In fact Melissa Rufty used two of them in white for this adorable interior design of a children's room. We think it added to the unexpected and exciting scheme of things.
The lamps come in three colors and two sizes.

When a favorite customer Beth from Houston stopped in to buy one of our very cute papier mache pigs, we knew she would be back.
Beth is an executive chef, and these pigs tickled her, well pink. She came back for a second one in black.

Chet Pourciau featured one of our favorite items on his TV spot for FOX HERE
He featured one of the clever hanging light fixtures from Shiner.
Joe Manus, the owner of Shiner, remembers his first black eye. He was 7, he deserved it, and he wore it like a badge of honor. Ever since, the shiner has become his personal emblem for something tough, dark, and proudly damaged.
Now Joe applies the manufacturing techniques and brutal aesthetic that earned his reputation for high-end boutiques and nightclubs in Atlanta to his first collection of modern, eco-friendly furnishings. It’s dirty, sexy, clever and dark. Of course, he named it Shiner.
You can use it as a side table
Turn it on it's side and add a piece of glass for a coffee table
perch, is proud to carry Shiner products. They sell to the trade only, so if you go to their web site HERE and see all they have to offer and just have to have one of their fabulous pieces, call perch. and we will be happy to order it for you!
