a style maven's haven featured in Cue...

At perch. we're lucky to have talented friends/clients who share our love of eclecticism and inspire us to push the envelope with design.  This includes fashion guru Emily Walker owner of Em's on Metairie Road and Em & Liv's on Maple Street.  Her fabulous home was just featured in an article written by our favorite style writer Lee Cutrone.  I was honored to help Emily add some items from perch to get her space ready for the shoot.

Emily says some of her favorite fashion finds include:

vintage suede boots

 vintage Chanel bag

Em's fabulous fashion sense translates to her design sense as well.
Emily has a fabulous study which doubles as a playroom for her nieces.  In it she has a precious settee she found at Renaissance upholstered in a punchy ikat print.  We wanted to unify things while keeping it whimsical and fun.

This tree wallpaper by Harelquin turned out to be the perfect backdrop for the room with a champagne background and hot pink, red and green within the design.

A pair of Kartell Ghostbusters perfectly juxtaposed the traditional settee.

Her living room/dining area had great bones but was missing a little pattern & color.

This awesome print by Manuel Canovas incorporated a wonderful mixture of saturated hues like aqua, lilac and fuchsia.

our vintage aqua foo dog found the perfect home on Emily's dining table.

Emily had a wall in her entry that needed a big spanse of art.  butterflies from perch.'s papillion collection made a great focal point in the space.

It always makes me happy when my favorite finds for perch end up in the homes of my favorite people.  This one of a kind vintage chair is one of them.  While I usually don't like walking into a room to see the back of a chair, this gorgeously hand-made vintage chair in a colorful mosaic pattern is the rare exception.

dark moody fabulous - Wearstler Style...

If you're like us you've had to wipe the drool off of the pages of your most recent issue of Elle Decor.  Lucky home owners Lara and former Microsoft executive Jeff Sanderson enlisted the talented Kelly Wearstler to handle the interiors of their home on Mercer Island outside of Seattle.  "Meetings with interior designers left the couple feeling underwhelmed. What they wanted was an artist. So they turned to Kelly Wearstler."
