perch. sells the Nest candle that Joni Web has in her home

Joni Webb who writes the extremely popular and informative blog Cote de Texas recently wrote about how she loves the Nest Bamboo candle.

perch. exclusively sells the Nest brand in New Orleans, after trying many others.

Joni says,"I’m fickle when it comes to candles! Right now my favorite new candle is The Nest: Bamboo, pictured here. It’s a large glass 3 wick candle. It’s too expensive, although it burns forever it seems. The scent is fabulous. I walked into Mecox and bought it immediately – the store smelled that good!"




When people walk into to perch. the first thing they always say is that the store smells so good. We burn the one wick candle that sells for $32., and it fills our 6000 square foot store with the fresh scent of Bamboo. We burn it 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and one candle lasts us two weeks.

perch. has a fabric room with over a half million fabrics (and several hundred wallpapers) to choose from. We carry all the main designer lines. Well almost. For a long time one fabric house has been missing, and it is one that we have long wanted. It is the fabulous Zoffany.

Take a look at all these beautiful images from Zoffany, featuring some of their beautiful products.


Zoffany has been around for a couple of hundred years, and they have an incredible archive of antique and vintage fabrics and papers that they reinterpret into new modern designs and collections.

We especially love one that looks like trompe l'oeil fabric. Zoffany used a fabric from the their archive, a fabric that dates from the 1700's, and used it to design a modern wallpaper.

Artist Elaine Guillot in Paris

perch, is so happy to announce that we are representing artist Elaine Guillot in the shop.
Elaine is a native of New Orleans who was educated in Paris, where she studied art and became a painter.

Elaine paints in oils, something that is becoming more and more rare. She prefers this medium because of the luminosity of oil paint.

Elaine paints ordinary objects, portraits, and landscapes, and perch. has a dozen or so of her paintings on display.
